Hey All!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th, enjoyed the time with friends and family, I know we all did!  July is an awesome month at the Market, everything is in full swing, vegetables are starting to come to fruition, and we will be seeing more sunshine and gorgeous weather!

Here's whats going on in the Market:

We want to give a shout-out to Walker Farms of Siletz. Congratulations on moving on to the next round in the Mission Small Business $250,000 grand competition!  We are behind you and hoping you get it!

Also, this Sunday 7/8/2012 Walker Farms is running a sale on their leg of lamb and chicken backs, stop by and see their wonderful deal!

We have a few new rules posted on the website: www.lincolncityfarmersmarket.org.  If you have any questions about any new rules/regulations we have posted, feel free to stop by the Market Information Booth on Sunday and we can have a discussion about it.

Our Farmers are starting to rejoin us now that produce is in full swing, we are seeing a new farmer almost every week! Stop by and see whats growing!

Hey All!

We're back!! Sorry to keep everyone on hold for so long, but after our brief hiatus, the blog is back and running!

We have had an eventful few weeks, and an amazing beginning to this years Market. Thank you to everyone who has come by to see us, and stay tuned for all the new things that will be coming in the months to come!

Here's what's new in the Market World:

Carmel Knoll Foods is bringing dips to market!  Sesame Parmesan, and Bacon Chili.  Either dip is perfect for topping chicken, baked potatoes, and cooked veggies.  Bacon chili is a great topper for nachos and tacos. Debbie, owner and operator, makes some incredible and yummy mixes that are wonderful additions to dinners, parties, and gatherings! Stop by and say hi this Sunday and sample some of her tasty treats!

We have a new Vendor Of The Week! Take a look and see who it is!  There will also be a new Recipe of the Week by the end of the day today, as well as the possibility of new Vendor Photos on the website: www.lincolncityfarmersmarket.org.

We had the honor of hosting another wonderful Non-Profit Organization this last Sunday: Relay For Life.  The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, will be taking place in Lincoln City this year on August 4th & 5th in Taft from 7-12.  This is another great cause, and a wonderful opportunity to do something for those in need. Bring a bit of light into others lives.  If you would like more information on how to: Form A Team, Become A Corporate Sponsor, Join The Planning Committee, or Find Out More About Survivor Activities; contact Renee Bathke for more information.  You can reach her at: Renee.Bathke@cancer.org, 541-434-3123, or visit www.relayforlife.org/lincolncityOR

Great new things are happening around the Market, and new Farmers and Vendors are joining us every week! Stop by and say hi this Sunday, and we wish all of you Fathers out there an early Happy Father's Day!

Hey All!

We had an excellent day today, glad to see everyone enjoying the holiday weekend. Speaking of holiday weekend, some of your favorite vendors are getting ready for tomorrow. It's a three day weekend for everybody!! Well...a two day weekend for us at least :). We will be setting up on the Cultural Center lawn again tomorrow morning!! So come on out and see us on a wonderful Memorial Day! From 9-3 as usual :).

In other Market news...

We just wanted to make everyone aware that there is a new form of theft going on in the Market.  That's right everyone, we unfortunately have to inform you that our seagull friends are getting bolder. When Paul Mistretta, owner of Strung Out On Beads And Coffee, set up his booth today he had no idea that one of those rascally birds would set out to pilfer one of his scones.  It was one of those moments you had to see to believe, and we almost couldn't believe it ourselves. So watch yourselves, you never know when you're in for an airstrike!

Hey All!

We had an excellent Sunday, despite the weathers attempt at dampening our spirits! Thank all of you who came out to see us even in the rain! We love our loyal customers who stand by us even in Oregon's crazy weather.

This week the blog is opening our Recipe section! This is an excellent place on the blog that allows you to put together some of your favorite vendors and their tasty treats, into full meals for you and your family.  Its a great way to make quick, easy, and tasty weekday meals with locally grown, made, and reared products. We will showcase one full meal a week, so you have a chance to put it all together, possibly more depending.  Take a look at the recipe section to see what we have for you this week!!

See you all Sunday!

Hey again everyone!

The first two Sundays of the Market have been a great success, and it is all thanks to our wonderful vendors and our even greater customers!

This week we had the honor of hosting a local non-profit with a very noble cause.  The Avon 39.3 mile Breast Cancer Walk. The family of Tanya Valora & Raven Brunner are trying to raise at least $3,600 by July before they set out on the 39 mile trek. Because of Avon, who helps with early detection and treatment of breast cancer, Tanya's family and very close friends have not only had one, but four survivors!! Including Tanya's aunt Linda who finished chemo a year ago this month. To say that they are passionate about this cause, is definitely and understatement.  Breast Cancer is a serious concern for many in today's day and age, and to learn more about it visit: http://www.cancer.org/acs/groups/content/@epidemiologysurveilance/documents/document/acspc-030975.pdf

Tanya's family is doing amazing things thanks to the help of Avon: and in addition to the hours of training necessary for the walk, they have been busy organizing fundraising events around the city. On May 11th they raised $469 dollars at a spaghetti dinner, bake sale, and raffle! They are well on their way to meeting their goal, but there are still ways in which you can help! Including a car wash and can drive later this month, and an upcoming Family Fun Casino Night on June 2nd at the Lincoln City Community Center.  Free entertainment for adults and children, as well as $1 games for adults and children including: bingo, blackjack, dice, fishing, roulette, and more! Also there will be over 25 raffle prizes from local merchants and citizens, with more being added weekly!  Food will also be available during the Casino Night, hot dogs, chips, popcorn, soda, bottled water, and more.  With all of the proceeds going towards the cause!  Just this weekend at the Sunday Market the added an additional $294 to the cause! So a big thank you to our community for helping to make this possible!
